| Fund Raising Concert programme - Elizabeth Mills OBE has passed on copies of a programme for the "Captain Relief Fund", with the following note - "I recently acquired the collection of programmes of concerts in which my Great Grandfather, Henry Whitworth Jones (1817-1891), performed. Although he was a professional singer from 1844 to 1855, he continued to sing as an amateur from 1859 to 1875. He was greatly in demand as he had a fine baritone voice. Amongst the programmes is one for a concert held at the Assembly Rooms Bath on 17th February 1871 in aid of the “Captain” Relief Fund. Having not heard of the “Captain” disaster before, I looked it up on the internet, and found your most interesting website. I attach a copy of the programme which you may care to include. Please note that you have permission to do so by Anthony Whitworth-Jones, another Great Grandchild of Henry Whitworth Jones." (back) (see also The Times reports on the Relief
